I just added this section to the 🔴 Deep Background “page” of this blog. Thinking it would be “lost” otherwise and not noticed, I am also posting it here as a blog entry. I found out that most of the medical science exists or at least appears to be feasible, if anecdotally. My guess is that the show has access to experts in addition to what the writers come up with. I’ve settled upon using slideshows as a preferred form for visual media for this blog for a couple of reasons. First, I tweet a lot. After each show, I tweet screen shots from the show, trying to capture key moments, quotes and major plot points. It’s sort of like a graphic novel or a scrapbook. So I began including a list of these tweets at the end of each annotated script. These naturally included the links to the screenshots resulting in a very klutzy way to recreate the Twitter experience. So I started looking for some more elegant way to do this and discovered YouTube has developed an app for making slideshows out of photos, turning them into you videos. When combined with another gene (AA or AG for rs2254298) http://bit.ly/18nPCKM, what results, for males who grew up in non-nurturing early childhood environments, is a higher likelihood that a person will develop psychiatric disorders AND/OR that he will be a risk-taker. Both “genes” or SNPs are located on the Oxytocin molecule. The psychiatric disorders include depression, borderline personality, sociopathy and psychopathy. 🔴 Final Scene: Season 6
Brief (Where we’re at): Red has been abducted – by Katarina Rostova, Liz’s mother and notorious KGB/Cabal operative and femme fatale. Having found out that Ressler had stirred up Russian interest in her by his search for her, Red reached out to a friend (“mystery man”) who located Katarina living in Paris. Red found her walking alone along a dark Parisian street on a rainy night and called her name. She turned and recognized him, “Raymond.” She walked up to him and kissed him, deeply. “Are they watching?” she asked. “It’s not safe. You’re not safe,” he answered, followed by another deep kiss. Then she took out a hypodermic needle and jabbed him in the gut with it. He looked at the needle, then collapsed. A car drove up, two men got out of it, loaded Red into it and drove off. Katarina picked up his fedora and, twiddling it, walked on, smiling slightly.
Red has been friends with the mystery man since childhood. Not only did the mystery man cast doubt on the story Dom told to Liz about Ilya Koslov’s past with Katarina, he looks a little like an older Ilya himself. Not only do both he and Red know Dom, both refer to Liz as “Masha,” and both agree it was concerning that Dom told Liz “that story.” According to Dom’s account to Liz, Red was in fact Ilya Koslov before taking on the identity of Raymond Reddington. The reason Red gives for Dom’s story was that Dom wanted Liz to be able “to move on.” And in fact Liz has moved on, with her daughter Agnes, now about four, coming back home to live.
The Season 6 “plot against America” uncovered by former MI6 agent Christopher Miles turned out not to be a plot to assassinate the President at all but rather a plot by the President to assassinate the First Lady, who wanted him to come clean about a drunken car accident four years earlier that had killed a woman and her son. Liz and Ressler interrupted the shooting just in time to throw off Mr Sandquist’s shot, but Sandquist turned the tables and accused them of being the assassins, so they were arrested. (They had just earlier escaped from the Post Office along with Aram and Cooper in a break-out masterminded by Liz.) Red intervened by ramming the police wagon they were in and, after a shootout, Anna McMahon was just about to execute Red when Dembe(!) appeared and shot McMahon. So Dembe is back! “I said I needed to follow my own path. I did. It led me back to you.” But more trouble is in store. Dembe tells Red “Our friend in Miami says the Townsend Directive is in play,” so it’s possible being held captive by Katarina Rostova may not be the worst of Red’s problems.

I can’t stop looking at James Spader’s face. I’ve noticed I am not alone in this… It’s as though there were 1000 masks, each one capturing *perfectly* an emotion you didn’t even know existed but that you instantly recognize, and he moves flawlessly from one to the next, sometimes donning several in a second. As far as I know there is no national board or government agency tasked with deciding what is or is not a “conspiracy theory,” and since this blog is about The Blacklist, not Frontline, ideas are considered “on the merits.” Stupid stuff is thrown out, the rest posted for comment. I note that I’ve been called a conspiracy theorist for 1) saying state capitalism – as in Russia & China – does not welcome the open Internet, and 2) that the TPP trade deal is corporate-friendly and could weaken state sovereignty (companies can sue countries). So, I have a soft spot for people accused of harboring non-MSM views.
However, the one “conspiracy theory” I oppose is the notion of “bloodlines.” It makes me want to tear my hair out. There is no such thing as a bloodline that gets passed along through generations of kingship or kinship. This is nothing but the genomic version of primogeniture. I had looked into the research on the “Warrior gene” (MAOA) earlier and posted that here [on WSJ Speakeasy] but decided last night to look again, to check out @A.M.’s theory. I worked in biomed research and genomics for more than a decade, so that was a start. There was a swell of new research back in 2009-12 which roughly coincides when The Blacklist was being conceived.
