This is where I post my thoughts and reblog stuff from other sites I find interesting or topical, mostly topics from Twitter, Tumblr and blogs. Most discussion in Scribblings in the past has tended to be about the story, characters, their relationships, the timeline plus various controversies in the fandom. This is probably the closest thing on this blog to a “blog” – Lightly edited. Reverse chronological. WSJ sourcing: http://on.wsj.com/1sMrXMo ✛ date/timestamp.

I’ve settled upon using slideshows as a preferred form for visual media for this blog for a couple of reasons. First, I tweet a lot. After each show, I tweet screen shots from the show, trying to capture key moments, quotes and major plot points. It’s sort of like a graphic novel or a scrapbook. So I began including a list of these tweets at the end of each annotated script. These naturally included the links to the screenshots resulting in a very klutzy way to recreate the Twitter experience. So I started looking for some more elegant way to do this and discovered YouTube has developed an app for making slideshows out of photos, turning them into you videos. It’s located here:

I looked at around 60 image processing apps for a basic set I could use for working with photos (mostly low-light screenshots) for Twitter and for this blog. I work on an iPad mini and have a large collection of 24,000 pics, about half of which are about The Blacklist (yeah, I know). So my comments are relevant mostly to iPad and Apple users. This assumes starting with iOS as the operating system and iPhoto as the basic image storage and editing app. Unfortunately, iPhoto does not do everything.(1)

Daniel Knauf is a Co-Executive Producer and senior writer for The Blacklist. He answers questions about the show during and after it and is quite comfortable with Twitter. I don’t know a better way to re-capture Twitter (but I’ll try screenshots next time).
Below are his Tweets from 2:10 Luther Braxton-2. To find the original full interaction, do a search on Twitter using his handle @Daniel_Knauf followed by keywords from the Tweets below. A number of the early Tweets are comments on the episode action. You can see Knauf’s comic book work at play.
Here are my takeaways:

I can’t stop looking at James Spader’s face. I’ve noticed I am not alone in this… It’s as though there were 1000 masks, each one capturing *perfectly* an emotion you didn’t even know existed but that you instantly recognize, and he moves flawlessly from one to the next, sometimes donning several in a second. There must be a name for what he does – micro-acting? I think I saw “close camera acting” somewhere. Anyway, he has nailed it. I am riveted.

This is kind of exciting. I knew Megan Boone had a write-up in CapitolFile (with stunning photographs). But what she says about social media and The Blacklist writing staff is relevant to what is done here and on other blogs. What I mostly inferred in my earlier post (the 12:49pm 11/19 one, after the gay part), she confirms:
